The Story of St Leonards Community Care

Inspired by social movements of the past, St Leonards Community Care began in 2023 when a few St Leonards  community members decided to organize themselves and make an impact. We hope to make a positive impact to the St Leonards community one step at a time.

Our achievements:

  • Along with Norma W,  successfully pressured government to clean up the road side litter along Murradoc Road. Clean up undertaken November 23 after 11 months of emails and phone calls to Council, Vic Roads (Rural roads Vic) and local member Alison Marchant.

  • Advocating for the closure of Ibbotson Street between Bluff and Murradoc roads.

  • Working with Bellarine Bayside to look after our foreshore between the boat ramp and Red Bluff.

  • Monitoring the St Leonards foreshore beach topography and sand movement.

  • Successfully educating community and joining community across the Bellarine for the successful Bellarine Distinctive Areas and Landscapes (DAL) under Protect the Bellarine.
